We offer package deal on several different types of weight plates including Urethane Weight Plates, Bumper Plates and Competition Plates.

Urethane Weight Plates

Urethane Weight Plates are weight plates which are encased in durable, heavy-duty urethane to prevent scuffing or damage to equipment, walls and floors. Urethane plates are exceptionally durable, and will not split, peel or delaminate from the insert. They are also impervious to rusting, chipping, flaking and losing their color. Urethane is not only highly impact-resistant and shock-absorbent, but it is also exceptionally durable. Compared to rubber, it has a much higher tear strength.

Bumper Plates

A Bumper plate is a widely used training plate and is usually made of recycled, reprocessed rubber. It is shredded, mixed with a binder, and pressed in a mold under high heat and pressure much like a waffle maker used in your home. This plate, when cured, has a 2" area in the center of the plate where a tubular section of brass, steel, or stainless steel is crushed(swaged) outward on the edges to lock the now finished hub to the plate. The bumper plates are usually left with a plus or minus tolerance of 2% and serve well for general training.

Competition Plates

Competition Plates are specifically designed for powerlifting competitions where the rules mandate the use of extremely accurate kilogram, color coded discs. Ivanko CBP and CBPP series discs are made "wafer" thin to increase the plate loading capacity of the competition barbell. Since, it is not unusual for best athletes to exceed 400 kilograms in a particular lift during competition or training, it is imperative that there is enough space on the bar sleeve to accommodate as many discs as possible including the collars!
